With a development background as a programmer, Shawn created Automated Solutions, Inc. (ASI) to provide consulting services to companies in test automation as a Gold Partner with Mercury Interactive in 1996. As a Senior Consultant providing expertise in Leadership, Management, Test Automation and Test Management Methodologies, Shawn consulted at numerous Fortune 500 Companies. As his exposure to executive management expanded, Shawn was engaged to consult at this level on organizational and strategic direction. This partnership with Mercury continued from 1996 to 2004 when Shawn was asked to take on full-time leadership roles in the capacity of Vice President and Director. Shawn is continually advancing his career and seeking new and exciting opportunities at the executive management level.

Senior Technology Management Experience – VP of QA for American Home Mortgage (top 10 mortgage company in the nation), VP of Internet Testing for the Diners Club Division of Citigroup (Fortune 8), Director of QA & CM for World Avenue (leader in Internet Marketing & Lead Generation), President of Automated Solutions, Inc. providing consulting expertise to numerous Fortune 500 companies and Captain in the US Army.
Staffing and Budgets – Solid experience in managing, staffing, developing, and training teams in excess of 45 employees and consultants. Experience in managing 30+ offshore testers located in Canada, 9 countries in Europe, India and St. Thomas, USVI. Budget experience includes managing multi-million dollar budgets.
Software Testing Experience – Senior level expertise in the implementation of successful testing architectures, methodologies, processes in manual and automated testing. Testing covers all major SDKs and environments to include Internet/Intranet (Web), Client Server, Standalone, mid-tier and mainframe.
Software Development Experience – Development experience as a software programmer, test automation engineer and performance engineer. Programming experience includes VBScript, C, TSL, HTML, FSO, ADO, SQL, XML, COM, UNIX shell scripting and COBOL across various platforms.
Project Management Experience – Implemented Project Management solutions to improve the project request process from business units to the Technology department. PM implementations used include MS Project, TrackIT, SharePoint and custom methodologies (Quality Center).
Business Relations Experience – Executive level experience in the “board room” with executive management. Implemented business exchange programs to build a direct relationship with business units for knowledge transfer. Built UAT processes in order to communicate more effectively with the business on the projects they requested. Experience as a senior consultant working directly with business leaders to identify their issues, and develop and implementing solutions to their needs.
Operations Experience – Implemented process and control to maintain security and code migrations to Production. Production Support experience and architected numerous hardware solutions for various environments for software development, testing, UAT/Staging and Disaster Recover/Failover.
Technology Experience – Full software development life cycle with web technologies, client server, stand-alone, and mainframe platforms. Expertise in test automation (QuickTest Pro & LoadRunner) and Software Quality Assurance. Technologies include entire Microsoft Office Suite, HTML, C, VBScript, PHP, SOA/Web Services, SOAP, XML, JBoss, IIS, TSL, FSO, ADO, COM, .Net, ASP, Java, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Access, UNIX, Linux, Authorware, streaming media, WordPress, Moodle, Gimp, online payment processing and more.

- 1988 to 1996: pure software development for Fortune 500 companies.
- 1992 transitioned into test automation and began implementing numerous test automation solutions.
- 1996 President and Owner of Automated Solutions, Inc.

- 1998 opened a Certified Training Facility in Denver, Colorado focused on Test Automation.
- 1999 Senior Advisor running the Early Access programs (Beta program) for Mercury. Designed and implemented all the technical training presentations to select customers, partners, and senior Mercury field engineers & tech support personnel.
- 2000 Co-Founded QATraining.net which has become the leading online training site for QA Testers.
- 2002 Mercury selected Automated Solutions to be an elite Preferred Service Consultant.
- 2003 Solutions Partner Program (SPP) Gold Level (new Mercury Partner Program).
- 2004 Interim Vice President of QA at Diners Club/Citigroup until outsourcing deal to India.
- 2005 Vice President of QA at American Home Mortgage.
- 2007 – present Director of Quality Assurance & Configuration Management at World Avenue.
